Neal S. Blaisdell Center - Tom Moffatt Waikiki Shell
Big Time Rush is coming to the Waikiki Shell on Friday, March 13th. What a way to make sure that your Friday the 13th isn't spooky! Instead, it's going to be filled with nostalgia and upbeat songs from the Big Time Rush guys. This performance in Honolulu is part of their Real Life World Wide Tour. They took the worldwide element seriously, a lot of the artists who go on US tours skip Hawaii, but not these guys!
Katelyn Tarver, who played Jo Taylor in the original series, and Stephen Kramer Glickman, who was Gustavo Rocque, will also be a part of the performance. These two are great additions because even before Big Time Rush actually takes the stage, they'll help set the tone, reminding fans of the TV series and the music that it obviously inspired.

There's no way around the fact that this "In Real Life World Wide" tour is fueled by nostalgia. A lot of the people who are going to be in the crowd remember those days when they got home from school and put on the TV to watch "Big Time Rush." The band's promising to sing songs from every episode, so it might be a good time to get into the wayback machine and maybe re-watch the series. Sure, you'll be met with cheesy moments that you may have romanticized back then. Getting a chance to see those reruns will help have the lyrics to songs like "Boyfriend" and World-Wide" fresh in your memory.
The boys from Big Time Rush recently spoke about their return to the stage and what the feeling was like. One of the things that they noticed was that there were essentially two "audiences" that they were playing for. On one hand, we have the teens and tweens from the time the series originally aired. Then there are the current tweens who are watching reruns and have picked up the show. If you're a parent of the second generation, if you will, don't worry, they keep the show PG. Don't be afraid to bring your kids along. Beware, though, that they might be surprised by the receding hairlines of some of the boys!
As with many events at the Waikiki Shell, you have the option to sit in the main stands. That's where you want to be if your main goal is to be close to the band. Then there's the lawn out back. This spot is a great option if you just want to come out and chill with some friends while you have the music in the background. Ideally, try to find a spot in the middle of the theater regardless of the section that you're in. This is where you'll have the best overall views!
