Aloha Honolulu, Hey Hawaii! It’s finally here - summertime island life! And in the Heat Of The Summer before all the August dog days set in - we’ve been going to the hottest shows in town to keep the hype going and shows pumping. In The Open of the island and outside with all of our friends - there’s nothing like it! Dancing In The Rain, being Happy and Free with all the besties, and seeing Young The Giant?! That’s like the best night ever!
The west coast men who became giants on the global indie rock music stage - Young The Giant - are going on a MASSIVE tour this summer to celebrate ten years of Mind Over Matter and all things acoustic - and we need you right here with us when they get on stage! Right here at Waiki Shell on Friday August 15th for all of our indie pop love and harmonic pleasure.
Tickets are now on sale and going for around $110 dollars for the night’s show - that will also include performances from the Cold War Kids and Joby! What a show! Just make sure to get here early so you don’t get massive FOMO. Grab your passes now - and let’s party! Let’s party all night long!
We love a Slow Drive over to the Tom Moffat Waikīkī Shell — just in time to catch the breeze, the waves, and the most unforgettable summer night every time we want to catch a good show on the island. And this summer - we’re bringing that fire! Young the Giant is bringing their 2025 Open Acoustic Tour to Honolulu on Friday, August 15, kicking things off in Hawaii before hitting some of the most iconic open-air venues across the U.S - including spots like Red Rocks, Summerfest in Milwaukee, and the Pacific Amphitheatre over in L.A. county. And what makes this tour special? The boys will be an acoustic reimagining of their biggest hits and fan favorites — and with openers Cold War Kids and JOBY! joining the lineup before YTG takes the stage for the night.
It’s the band’s first time back in Hawaii in years, and with no new album since 2022’s American Bollywood, this show promises a fresh, stripped-down vibe that will let the songs speak louder than ever. The group just wrapped a run of shows with The Lumineers, sold out their two-night residency at the Troubadour in L.A. coming up next month, and played to massive crowds in Australia and New Zealand earlier this year — so yes, they’re fully dialed in and bringing the magic wherever they choose to play next. So we should expect that same energy when they take the stage here at Waikiki.
Young the Giant has been riding high since their early days in Irvine — offering an alternative to the heavier sounds of 2000s rock with a more spacious, coastal vibe that felt like California in song form. From breakout hits like Cough Syrup to the bold storytelling of American Bollywood, they’ve never stopped evolving — and now, over a decade into their career, they’re choosing to reconnect with fans in the most intimate way possible - going all acoustic, and promising to be more intimate than ever.
So, like we said y’all, you won’t want to miss the chance to see them like never before — unplugged, oceanside, and completely in their element. Grab your tickets now, and we’ll see you right here! Under the palms at Waikīkī Shell!
